
Pirates Ride Strong Showing on Day Two at Patriot

Fairfax, Va. – The Seton Hall men's swimming and diving team continued its strong showing at the Patriot Invitational hosted by George Mason University. The Pirates find themselves in third place on the team leaderboard entering the final day of competition.
The Hall started things out with a fourth-place finish in the 200 Medley Relay. The relay team of Ross Pantano (Bennington, Neb.), Julius Gustavsson, Justin Oosterwyk (Pequannock, N.J.) and Thomas Minar (Oxford, Conn.) combined to touch the wall in a time of 1:31.52. Freshman Sean Vizzard (Mount Laurel, N.J.) led the Pirates in the 400 IM with a time of 4:03.14 for a fourth-place finish while Caleb Smith (Charlottesville, Va.) finished eighth with a time of 4:08.30. Oosterwyk picked up his second, fourth-place finish of the evening, this time doing so in the 100 Fly, The junior managed to touch the wall in a time of 49.36.
The Pirates had a strong showing in the 200 Free placing Ben LaClair (Belchertown, Mass.) and Gideon Langenbusch (Oberhausen, Germany) second and third in the event. LaClair finished in a time of 1:39.78 while Langenbusch closed out in a time of 1:40.62.
As they did on day one, the Pirates got a strong performance boost on the boards. In the 1M Dive, Trevor Post led the way with a third-place finish and score of 251.95. Following juts behind in fourth and fifth respectively was Quinn Murtha with a score of 265.60 and Joel Satir with a score of 229.35.
In the 100 Breaststroke, Justen Lopez (Levittown, N.Y.) and Gustavsson took sixth and seventh, respectively. Lopez finished in 56.43 and Gustavsson in 56.64. Next, in the 100 Back, Pantano led the Pirates with a sixth-place finish and time of 49.91.
The Hall closed out the day with a third-place finish in the 800 Free Relay. The team of Oosterwyk, Langenbusch, Smith and LaClair combined to touch the wall in a time of 6:46.06.

Finals (6 p.m.): 1,650 Free, 200 Back, 100 Free, 200 Breast, 200 Fly, 400 Free Relay
