
Seton Hall Athletics Announces Recent New Hires

South Orange, N.J. -Â The Seton Hall Department of Athletics recently has made four new hires to strengthen its personnel and continue to provide resources that enhance the student-athlete experience and put them on a path towards success. Joining Seton Hall over the last few weeks are Assistant Equipment Manager Carissa Brizzi, Associate Athletics Director for Ticket Operations Collin Bruning, Assistant Athletics Director for Development Chris Hale and Associate Athletics Director for Compliance Sean McCarthy.
"We're excited to welcome Carissa, Collin, Chris and Sean to the Seton Hall Athletics family," said Seton Hall Director of Athletics & Recreation Bryan Felt. "Each of them brings a terrific skillset that will help our department continue to grow, progress and sustain excellence as we tirelessly work on behalf of our student-athletes."
Brizzi joins Seton Hall after recently serving as a graduate assistant equipment manager at East Stroudsburg University. At The Hall, she will assist in managing, distributing, and ordering team inventory as well as the daily equipment operations. Brizzi earned her bachelor's degree in sports management from the University of Connecticut, where she competed on the softball team and served as an equipment room student employee and intern.
Bruning comes east to Seton Hall after four years as the assistant athletics director for ticket operations at Northern Illinois University. At The Hall, he will oversee the distribution, record keeping, and customer relations for all ticket sales and operations efforts with a primary focus on men's and women's basketball. Prior to Northern Illinois, Bruning was the ticket manager for Georgetown University for three years and also had stints at Vanderbilt and Tennessee. Bruning holds a bachelor's degree in sports administration from Kent State.
Hale crosses the Hudson River to join the Pirates after serving as the associate director of athletic fundraising at Long Island University. At The Hall, Hale will oversee day-to-day operations of Pirate Blue, fundraise for annual giving as well as capital projects and be a liaison to the department's advancement partners on campus. Prior to LIU, Hale worked at Guilford College as the assistant director of development for athletics and also had previous stops at the Myrtle Beach Pelicans and Queens University of Charlotte. No stranger to the BIG EAST, Hale swam at the University of Cincinnati, where he earned a bachelor's degree in journalism. He also has a Juris Doctor from Northern Kentucky University and a Master of Business Administration from Queens University of Charlotte.
McCarthy becomes a Pirate after four years at Eastern Michigan University, where he most recently was the assistant athletics director for compliance. In his role with the Pirates, he will oversee day-to-day compliance with a focus on recruiting, department-wide rules education, and NCAA related reporting. Prior to his time at Eastern Michigan, McCarthy was the compliance coordinator at Virginia Commonwealth University, and he also had internships at Northern Illinois University and the University of Nebraska. McCarthy holds a bachelor's degree in political science from Iowa State University and earned his Juris Doctor from the Marquette University Law School.
