
Pirates Have Strong Night One at WVU Invite

Morgantown, W. Va. – Seton Hall men's swimming and diving had a strong showing on Day One of the WVU Invite on Thursday night. The Pirates took third place the 200 Free Relay to begin the night, finishing just shy of setting the program record.
The quartet of Michael Klimaszewski (London, England) Ben Endersby (Caldwell, N.J.), Kevin Cary (West Chester, Pa.) and Tommy Minar (Oxford, Conn.) finished with a time of 1:21.53 in the event, finishing 0.49 seconds off the program mark set back in 2018.
Klimaszewski and Cary would go on to compete in event finals later on in the night. Cary was one of three Pirates to swim in the finals of the 500 Free, joining Clil Haveli (Kafar Hadranim, Israel) and Sean Vizzard (Mount Laurel, N.J.). Haveli led the way out of the trio, touching the wall in third place with a time of 4:30.44. Klimaszewski competed in the finals of the 50 Free, finishing with a time of 20.73.
The 400 Medley Relay capped off the swimming portion of Day One, with Ross Pantano (Bennington, Neb.), Endersby, Klimaszewski and Cary combining to finish with a time of 3:19.05. In the 1M dive, Trevor Post took seventh place with a score of 282.05.
Day Two of the WVU Invite gets underway at 10 a.m. on Friday with prelims followed by event finals at 6 p.m. Events include the 200 Medley Relay, 100 Fly, 400 IM, 200 Free, 100 Breast, 100 Back, 800 Free Relay and 3M dive.
