
Pirates Finish up Day Two at WVU Invite

Morgantown, W. Va. – The Pirates wrapped up Day Two at the WVU Invite on Friday night. The night began with the Pirates setting a new season best time in the 200 Medley Relay. The quartet of Madeline Field (Wheaton, Ill.), Meredith Mutter (Pottstown, Pa.), Josie McCartney (Verona, Wisc.) and Cornelia Jerresand (Taeby, Sweden) finished the race in a time of 1:44.41 to set a new team season-best time.
Later in the night, Natalie Heim had a strong showing in the 200 Free, taking fourth place and setting a new personal best in the event. The junior touched the wall with a time of 1:49.45.
To cap off the night, the Pirates posted a sixth-place finish in the 800 Free Relay. Heim, Amanda Zajdzinski (Mesa, Ariz.), Madeline Bachand (Raleigh, N.C.) and Allie Waggoner (Moorestown, N.J.) combined to touch the wall in 7:33.70.
Day Three of the WVU Invite is on Saturday, featuring the finals of the 200 Back, 100 Free, 1650 Free, 200 Breast, 200 Fly, 400 Free Relay, as well as the team and platform diving.
