Allesch Named to Academic All-District Team by CSC

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – Seton Hall's Alexia Allesch (Basking Ridge, N.J.) was named to the Academic All-District Team by the College Sports Communicators on Tuesday.

In order to qualify for the prestigious All-District Team, an athlete must maintain a 3.50 grade point average, have spent at least one calendar year at her current institution and must have played in at least 50 percent of her team's contests.

After being named the Sun Belt Conference's Newcomer of the Year at Appalachian State last year, Allesch returned to Seton Hall for her final season and has been an integral part of the Pirates' rotation. The strong defensive power forward was tasked with guarding DePaul's All-America Aneesah Morrow in back-to-back games last week and averaged six rebounds and 2.5 blocks per contest against her. Earlier this year, Allesch surpassed 500 points for her career, all while maintaining a sparkling 3.834 grade point average.
