Youth Movement Leads Way for Pirates on Day Two

East Meadow, N.Y. – The Seton Hall men's swimming and diving team continued to perform well on day two of the BIG EAST Championships, recording three second-place finishes and five top-four times. Among those top finishes were strong performances from the underclassmen on the Pirates' roster who have shown out all season long.
The night began with sophomore Sean Vizzard (Mount Laurel, N.J.) and freshmen Clil Halevi (Kafar Hadranim, Israel) and Kevin Cary (West Chester, Pa.) finishing second, third and fourth, respectively, in the 500 Free. Each recorded a new personal-best time, as Vizzard touch the wall in 4:25.30. Halevi took the bronze in 4:25.36, while Cary finished with a time of 4:26.14.
In the 50 Free, another Pirate freshman found his way onto the podium. Michael Klimaszewski (London, England) nabbed second place in the event, posting a personal-best time of 20.46. Behind him in third was Thomas Minar (Oxford, Conn.), who finished the race in 20.55.
Wrapping up the night was the 200 Free Relay team, a quartet consisting on the present and future of this team. Klimaszewski and Minar swam the opening legs, followed by freshman Ben Endersby (Caldwell, N.J.) and Cary on the anchor leg. The Pirates took home the silver in the race in a time of 1:21.54 for their third second-place time of the night.
Through two days, the Pirates sit in third place overall with 254.5 points, finding themselves in a close battle with second-place Xavier and first-place Georgetown.
