Gumerova helped the Pirates win the doubles point as she teamed with Aina Plana Ventosa to capture a 6-3 win over Kristi Boro and Mathilde Sreeves at No. 1. Arabella Moen and Hili Kronzon sealed things with a 6-3 win over Loreto Rubio and Chandrika Joshi at No. 3.
Gumerova then kept things rolling by topping Rubio at No. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-2. Seton Hall's third team point came from Oliwia Kempinski, who defeated Boro at No. 3 singles, 6-2, 6-4. Kempinski is now 6-2 in singles during the spring season.
The Pirates were so close to team victory, but fell short at No. 2, No. 4 and No. 5 singles, which all went to a third set.
The Pirates will return to action next weekend when they head to Florida for a spring break trip. They will face Oakland University Saturday, March 4 at the USTA Training Center in Orlando.
