
Pirates Down Lehigh 123-115 in Close Meet

BETHLEHEM, PA. – The Seton Hall women's swimming and diving team claimed victory in a tightly contested affair, defeating Lehigh 123-115.
Diving
Junior Amy Kugleman was the standout diver for the Pirates today against Lehigh. The Tappan, New York, native earned the silver medal on both boards today. Kugleman completed the 1-meter board with a score of 233.48 and the 3-meter board with a score of 239.40.
Swimming                                                                       Â
The Pirates' individual program opened in typical Pirate fashion in the 1000 Freestyle. Senior Allie Waggoner continued her distance freestyle domination with a 10:15.16 in the 1000 Freestyle. Â Later on in the meet, she would go on to claim victory in the 500 Freestyle with a time of 5:02.47 as well. Fellow pirate Mandy Zajdzinski would finish not far behind Waggoner in second place with a time of 5:06.62
In the 200 Freestyle, 2023 BIG EAST Champion Natalie Heim once again claimed overall victory in with a time of 1:52.90. It was Heim's third win in the event this season. She would go on to also claim overall victory in the 100 Freestyle with a time of 52.03, three tenths ahead of teammate Lea Moeller.
While just falling short in the 100 Freestyle, the 50 Freestyle was a different story for Lea Moeller. She claimed overall victory over teammate Naima Hazell by 0.18 seconds with a time of 24.31.
The Pirates also claimed a string of second place finishes during the meet. Among them, Mia Sunseri narrowly missed overall victory with a time of 2:26.45 in the 200 Breaststroke by just over a quarter-of-a-second. Alongside Sunseri, Amaelia Obszarny finished second in the 200 Backstroke with a time of 2:08.48.
In the final relay of the meet, the Pirates claimed overall victory in the event to secure victory. Lea Moeller, Naima Hazell, Mandy Zajdzinski and Natalie Heim combined for a time of 1:36.38.
What's Next
The Pirates are back in the pool on Saturday back in South Orange, New Jersey, against Drexel. Diving is scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m., while swimming will begin at 2:30 p.m.
