Bethlehem, Pa. - The Seton Hall women's tennis team had some chances to score points against Lehigh, but ultimately the Mountain Hawks pulled away to a 4-0 victory Saturday afternoon at Lewis Indoor Tennis Center.
"Our team competed well today," said Seton Hall head coach James Enzler. "Credit to Olivia Leavitt (Lehigh head coach) for what she is doing with her program. Her players played very intelligent tennis and when our players had strategies that started working, they did a fantastic job of pivoting and changing the game plan within the match. My hats off to her and those girls; they are really starting to create a great program and culture there."
Just 16 hours off a great win over Stony Brook, the Pirates had to travel to the afternoon match and they competed hard. At No. 1 singles, Imogen Brooker won her first set against Hamsa Javagal, before ultimately falling in three sets. At No. 2, Anastasia Sereda was tied with Maggie Forkner, one set apiece, when Lehigh clinched victory.
Next up is Seton Hall's spring break trip. The Pirates will head to Orlando, Fla., to train and compete at the USTA National Campus, facing Stonehill on March 3, Creighton on March 5 and Saint Joseph's on March 6.
