The Hall Posts Strong Showing on Day Two of BIG EAST Championships

Indianapolis, Ind. – Sean Vizzard (Mount Laurel, N.J.) and Quinn Murtha (Cumming, Ga.) nabbed second-place finishes while Toma Adam (Bacau, Romania) and Trevor Post (Bay City,Mich.) each earned bronze medals as the Pirates wrapped up Day Two at the BIG EAST Swimming and Diving Championships on Thursday night.
The night kicked off with the 500 Free, which saw Vizzard and Clil Halevi (Kafar Hadranim, Israel) each finish inside the top-four. Vizzard took second overall, coming in with a time of 4:23.01. Halevi's time was 4:24.14, which was good enough for a fourth-place spot in the event.
Gideon Langenbusch (Oberhausen, Germany) worked his way into the Championship Final of the 200 IM thanks to a strong showing in prelims. He built upon that in the night session for a sixth-place finish in the event, clocking in at 1:50.02. In his first solo BIG EAST Championship event, Adam came away with a third-place finish in the 50 Free. His time of 20.28 was good enough to earn the bronze medal in the event.
On the 3-meter diving boards, Murtha and Post each had great showings which placed them on the podium. Murtha, the reigning champion in the event, finished with a score of 330.45, narrowly edging out Post who finished with a score of 330.40.
The night finished off with the 200 Free Relay, which featured the Pirates coming in with a fourth-place finish. Adam, Kevin Cary (West Chester, Pa.), Ben Endersby (Caldwell, N.J.), and Bryant LaCroix (Bloomsburg, Pa.) combined for a time of 1:21.53 in the event.
Through two days and 14 events, the Pirates sit in third place overall with 210 points. Georgetown holds the lead with 304 points.
