
Murtha Named BIG EAST Swim & Dive Male Athlete of the Week

NEW YORK - Quinn Murtha (Cumming, Ga.) has been named BIG EAST Swimming and Diving Men's Athlete of the Week, the conference announced on Wednesday afternoon.
Murtha is fresh off breaking the program record in the 1-meter dive on Saturday at Georgetown. His score of 336.83 took down the record of 334.90Â previously set by current diving coach Ben Mitchell back in 2013. Murtha would also go on to pick up another victory in the 3-meter with a total score of 338.25 in the event. It marked the third time this season in which Murtha has swept both the 1-meter and 3-meter at a meet.
Murtha and the Pirates now set their sights on the BIG EAST Championships, which will be held at IU Natatorium from Feb. 28-March 2.
