New York, N.Y. -- Sophomore Isaiah Coleman (Fredericksburg, Va.) has been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll after averaging 25.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists per contest in two games last week for the Seton Hall men's basketball team.
This is Coleman's second appearance on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll this season.
Coleman shot 52 percent from the floor, 58 percent from three-point range (7-of-12) and 92 percent from the free throw line (11-of-12) in a 1-1 week for the Pirates. His week started with a stat sheet-stuffing performance in Seton Hall's overtime victory over DePaul when he had 24 points, six rebounds and a career-best five assists. He also scored the game-tying three-point basket in the final seconds of regulation that forced overtime. In the Pirates' hard-fought loss at Providence on Sunday, Coleman set a new career high with 26 points in just 24 minutes as he battled foul trouble.
After serving as the Pirates' sixth man last season, Coleman has made a significant leap this season as he ranks second in the BIG EAST averaging 23.2 points per game against conference competition. He's tied for ninth in rebounding in league contests averaging 6.6 boards per game and he leads the BIG EAST in free throws made (30) and free throw attempts (36). Earlier this season, Coleman was named to the Charleston Classic All-Tournament Team and the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll after averaging 13.3 points and 7.0 rebounds per game against VCU, Vanderbilt and Florida Atlantic.
