
Pirates Fall to Wildcats in Short-Format Meet

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – The Seton Hall women's swimming and diving team fell to the reigning BIG EAST Champion Villanova Wildcats, 168-54, in the second meet of the season
Diving
With three divers competing, senior Amy Kugelman topped the field for the Pirates on the one-meter board with a score of 218.55. On the three-meter board, sophomore Sarah Behrman topped the sheets for the Pirates with a score of 227.70.
Swimming
In what was a short-format meet due to both teams' schedules, junior Naima Hazell was the first Pirate to podium for the Pirates on the day. Her 50 freestyle time of 24.77 earned her a second-place finish against the Wildcats.
After a strong first collegiate meet against Towson, freshman Ella Drakulich continued her strong debut run at The Hall against Villanova. Drakulich finished in second place in the 200 IM with a time of 2:09.20, in addition to a third-place finish in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:07.37.
The Pirates' only other podium finisher on the day was sophomore Zeynep Aysoy. Aysoy narrowly missed out on second place at the wall in the 500 freestyle, settling for third place in the event with a time of 5:07.72
What's Next
The Pirates return to action on Friday, October 17, when the women's team plays host to the Villanova Wildcats women's side. The meet is slated to begin at 5 p.m.
