LEWISBURG, PA. – On the opening night of the Bucknell Invitational, Seton Hall men's swimming and diving collected a handful of podiums and exciting near record-breaking swims.

After finding his way into the finals after prelims, Nick Graham faced his most challenging field of the season in the one-meter final. Less than a month after suffering his first defeat of the season at the same pool, Graham sought to right that wrong. While he put up a strong score of 328.05, the sophomore ultimately came in second place behind Brown's Rowland Lawver.
Also in the final was freshman Henry Summers, who finished his first collegiate final with a score of 248.05.
Swimming
Despite their sixth-place finish in the 200 freestyle relay to open the night, the Pirates' time of 1:21.05 was less than a quarter-second off the program record set back in February at BIG EASTs, 1:20.83.
In the 500 freestyle, the Pirates held swimmers in both the A and B finals. Freshman Zach McLeod built a strong race in the B final, holding station in second place before producing a blistering final 100 yards to win the race with a career-best time of 4:26.91. In the A final, senior Jack Callan worked his way to a season-best mark of 4:27.72.
The Pirates' best chance for an overall win of the night came in the 200 IM. Both Balint Marosi and Kevin Cary, the reigning BIG EAST Champion and BIG EAST finalist, respectively, sat behind the blocks waiting for their chance to race. Despite a strong opening 100 yards, their paths diverged in the back half of the race. While Marosi continued to surge ahead, a sweltering breaststroke leg by Brown's Marton Nagy proved too much to overcome. The Hungarian touched the wall in second with a time of 1:44.88, less than a half-second off his own school record time from BIG EASTs last season. Cary, meanwhile, came home in seventh place, one spot higher than prelims, with a time of 1:49.63, 0.01 seconds slower than his time from prelims.
As the individual events wound to an end for the night, two more Pirates had a chance for standout swims. In the 50 freestyle B final, Toma Adam raced to a tie for the top spot in the heat with a time of 20.23. Not far behind him, fourth in the heat, Michael Klimaszewski finished with a season-best mark of 20.50.
With only the 400 Medley Relay left for the night, the Pirates went to the blocks looking to finish higher than the opening relay. By the end of the race, the lineup of Marosi, Jaeger Ellerman, Klimaszewski and Cary had achieved way more than that. All four swimmers put up massive splits, with the quartet coming home in a time of 3:13.63, a time good for third place and 0.7 seconds off the current school record.
