Newark, N.J. — The Seton Hall men's basketball team forced 15 Creighton turnovers but couldn't capitalize as the Bluejays' shooting proved to be too much in their 79-61 victory on Senior Night for the Pirates at Prudential Center.
Isaiah Coleman finished with 18 points, seven rebounds and three assists for the Pirates and Scotty Middleton chipped in 12 points, three rebounds and three steals off the bench. In his final home game as a Pirate, Dylan Addae-Wusu finished with 10 points, six rebounds and four assists.
How It Happened
The Pirates forced a turnover on Creighton's first possession and they forced two Bluejay shot attempts late in the shot clock. Garwey Dual scored the game's first bucket on a three-pointer from the wing. An Addae-Wusu tip-in at the 14:15 mark in the first half tied the score at 7-7 before Creighton used a 14-4 run to jump ahead by 10, 21-11.
Creighton led by as much as 15 in the first half before a David Tubek three-point basket from the corner kicked off an 8-2 run that trimmed the deficit to single digits. After a Middleton three that made it a nine-point game, 31-22, with 1:24 left before the half, the Bluejays scored the final four points of the half that ballooned their lead to 13, 35-22.
Emmanuel Okorafor scored the first two Seton Hall buckets of the second half but Creighton's Ryan Kalkbrenner answered by scoring seven of the Bluejays' next 13 points that pushed their advantage to 22. The closest the Pirates would get moving forward was 17 before Addae-Wusu scored all seven points in a 7-2 Seton Hall run that made it a 16-point contest, 66-50, with 4:29 to play.
