May Wins in Homecoming, Pirates Edged at Butler

Indianapolis, Ind. - In a return to her hometown and in front of family and friends, Isabelle May won her singles match in the No. 4 position, but the Seton Hall women's tennis suffered a narrow 4-3 loss to Butler that easily could have gone the other way Saturday afternoon at Indianapolis Racquet Club.
May topped Lauren Cook in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4, to earn her 13th singles win of the spring.
"This obviously was a tough one to lose, "said head coach James Enzler. "We felt we had it; we just couldn't quite pull out another win at a different position. The good thing is that we just have to remember as a group that we just barely lost to teams like Butler and Georgetown on their home courts. If we get the opportunity to play them in the first round of the BIG EAST Tournament at a neutral location, I'm excited to see what we can do if given that chance."
In addition to May winning, Imogen Brooker was a straight-sets winner in the No. 3 position, and Tamsin Hart won a third-set tiebreak in the No. 4 position. Anastasia Sereda won her first set in the No. 2 spot, but ultimately lost sets two and three.
Seton Hall will conclude the regular season with a Wednesday afternoon matchup against Fordham. The match will take place on campus at the Campus Courts in Ivy Hill Park, and it will be Senior Day with the Pirates honoring Tamsin Hart, Aili Hietala, Hili Kronzon, Arabella Moen and Paige Wise. The ceremony will take place at 1:15 p.m., and the match will begin at 2:30 p.m.
