
Pirates Fall to UConn in Final Home Meet of Season

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – After collecting a series of wins in the opening half of the meet, Seton Hall women's swimming and diving fell to the UConn Huskies, 159-80.
Diving
On the three-meter board, senior Amy Kugelman topped the scoring for the Pirates with a mark of 229.05. Freshman Daphne Powell topped the three-meter board for The Hall with a score of 225.07.
Swimming
The Pirates claimed victory in the 200 medley relay to open the meet when Lindsay Naber, Soluna Lim, Yosun Hacifazioglu and Naima Hazell put up a time of 1:47.21. Hazell continued that momentum in the 50 freestyle a few events later with an event-winning time of 24.67.
Immediately after, freshman Ella Drakulich put on a show in the 200 IM. In a wall-to-wall battle with the Huskies lead swimmer, her superb breaststroke leg helped her pull out a 0.06 second victory with a time of 2:09.82. Naber touched the wall third with a time of 2:10.64.
The Pirates closed out the meet with a pair of second-place finishes. Hacifazioglu finished second in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:07.82, while Zeynep Aysoy narrowly missed out on the win in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:11.33.
What's Next
The Pirates will close out the regular season when they travel to Washington, D.C. to take on the Georgetown Hoyas. The meet start time is still to be decided.
