OCALA, FLA. – The Seton Hall men's swim and dive team kicked off the 2026 BIG EAST Swim and Dive Championships with a second-place finish across two hotly-contested relays.

With tensions high inside FAST, the opening 200 medley relay kicked off with immense pace. After the Pirates found themselves running behind their seed time after two legs and in fourth place, it was on the back half of the relay to pull the Pirates back into medal position. Michael Klimaszewski and Toma Adam blitzed their way to the wall. While Adam put together the second-fastest split of any swimmer, the Pirates fell 0.01 seconds short of the podium in fourth place with a time of 1:28.60.
The Hall came back with vengeance in the second relay of the night, the 800 freestyle relay. With a nearly identical lineup to last year's title-winning squad, the Pirates were poised for a strong showing. Balint Marosi raced to a dead heat on the opening leg with the rest of the field, while Klimaszewski did his best to keep pace with the leader in the second leg. After Jack Callan wrapped up the third leg, Kevin Cary dove into the pool, needing to make up nearly four seconds to repeat as conference champions. While the senior cut the deficit in half midway through the leg, the gap proved too large and the Pirates secured second place with a season-best time of 6:31.74.
What's Next
The Pirates will kick off day two of the BIG EAST Championship at 10 a.m. on YouTube. Finals will be streamed on ESPN+ starting at 5:45 p.m.
