Coe Wins in Singles, Pirates Fall at UC Irvine

Irvine, Calif. - Ellie Coe won her singles match in the No. 6 position, but the Seton Hall women's tennis team lost at UC Irvine, 4-1, Thursday at UC Irvine Tennis Courts.

Coe overcame a first-set loss to Sayuri Parandian to win the match, 3-6, 6-4, 7-5, earning her 14th singles win of the year.

The two teams played clinch rule, preventing Anastasia Sereda from possibly winning at No. 5. She was leading Maily Huynh (UCI) 6-2, 5-7, 2-1 when the Anteaters clinched victory.

Seton Hall will now return to the east coast and prepare for a home BIG EAST battle against DePaul, taking place Saturday, March 14 at Murray Hill Tennis & Fitness at 6 p.m.
