Victor Browne serves as the Associate Athletic Director for Compliance at Seton Hall University, where he oversees all operations of the compliance office. In his role, Browne leads Seton Hall’s compliance initiatives, ensuring full adherence to NCAA, conference, and university rules while serving as the sport administrator for the women’s tennis program. Additionally, he plays a key role in navigating the evolving landscape of college athletics by helping facilitate and lead the charge for revenue-sharing strategies and policy implementation.
Browne came to South Orange following a successful five-year tenure at the University of San Diego, where he served as the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance. At USD, he managed daily compliance operations across all intercollegiate athletic programs, served on the department's NIL and Senior Staff Committee, and oversaw financial aid compliance, including drafting athletic aid and revenue-share agreements. Browne also was a key contributor in the creation and implementation of USD’s revenue sharing operations for all intercollegiate athletic programs. He originally joined San Diego in 2021 as the Assistant Director of Compliance, acting as a primary advisor on NCAA bylaws, monitoring academic eligibility, streamlining recruiting workflows, and facilitating monthly rules education for staff and coaches.
Before transitioning to athletic administration, Browne gained valuable legal experience as a Project Attorney for Motley Rice, LLC, where he conducted high-level document analysis for the nationwide Class Action Opioid Litigation. His foundation in collegiate athletics began during law school as a Compliance Assistant at The Citadel, where he maintained eligibility records and updated athletic policy guides.
A former student-athlete himself, Browne was a four-year member and two-time All-Conference selection for the men’s soccer team at Waynesburg University, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. He earned his Juris Doctor from the Charleston School of Law—where he served as a member on the Charleston Law Review and authored research on antitrust implications in sports broadcasting specifically pertaining to the rights of professional sports leagues and the NCAA—and holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Business & Corporate Law from the University of San Diego School of Law. Browne is also admitted to the District of Columbia Bar.
