Seton Hall Golf Places Eighth At East Carolina Spring Intercollegiate

The Pirates had three players finish with-in a stroke of each other. Junior Eugene Smith (Glen Ridge, NJ) led the way for the Pirates as he finished tied for ninth with a three-day score of 216. Smith opened the tournament with a score of 69 on the first 18 holes. Senior Scott Hawley (Shrewsbury, MA) was right behind Smith as he finished tied for 14th with a score of 217. A 68 in the second round of play highlighted his tournament. Freshman Justin Van Hyning (Bordentown, NJ) finished tied for 18th, just one stroke behind Hawley with a 218.
Rounding out the scoring for the Pirates was Brian McGowan (Cresskill, NJ) and Jonas Forssell (Montvale, NJ) who both finished tied for 64th with scores of 230. The Pirates next tournament is Mar. 27-28 when they compete in the Golden Horseshoe Colonial Intercollegiate in Williamsburg, Virginia.
