The Pirates scored early and often in the first game as they jumped out to a five run lead in the first inning. Seton Hall was led on the day by Kim Jackson's (Rockaway, NJ) nine RBI in the two games. In the first game Jackson went 2-for-2 with three RBI while in the second game she was 2-for-4 with six RBI, including a three-run homer to left center. Senior Amy Efchak (Wallington, NJ) also hit a home run for the Pirates, a solo shot in the fourth inning. Shanko shut the Terriers down in the first game as she faced the minimum 15 batters through five innings. The win lifts her record to 8-2 on the year.
In the second game it was more of the same for the Pirates as they jumped out to an early lead, scoring all 15 runs in the first three innings. Sophomore Ali Remakus (Hallstead, PA) hit a grand slam in the six-run third for the Pirates as she finished 3-for-7 with five RBI on the day. Misty Beaver (Machesney Park, IL) got the win for Seton Hall as she surrendered only one hit over five innings of work. The win evens Beaver's record at 5-5.
The Pirates are back in action this weekend when they host BIG EAST rival UConn on Saturday at noon and Boston College on Sunday, also at noon.
