
Several Pirates To Participate in NCAA Outdoor Track Championships

SOUTH ORANGE, NJ - Junior Nolle Graham (Bronx, NY) will participate in the long jump and as a member of the 4x400 meter relay team at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships May 30-June 2 at Eugene, OR. Graham was also named Mid-Atlantic Region Athlete of the Year Tuesday by the United States Track Coaches Association.
Graham, owner of the top distance this season in the long jump (6.67 meters), will jump at 8:30 p.m. EST on Wednesday, May 30. Graham's wind-aided jump at the BIG EAST Outdoor Championship earned her Most Outstanding Performer honors and she was also named Seton Hall's Female Athlete of the Year. Graham finished ninth in the long jump at the NCAA Indoor Championships.
Graham will also run with senior Shontee Bryant (Silver Spring, MD), senior Erica Broomfield (Markham, Ontario) and freshman Henrietta George (Lithonia, GA) as part of the 4x400 meter relay team. The relay team's top time of 3:34.66 at the Penn Relays on April 26 earned it a spot in the field. Alternates for the relay race are senior Heather Smith (Chicago, IL) and freshman Mia Campo (Jersey City, NJ). The women's 4x400 meter relay semifinals take place on May 31 at 9:45 p.m. and the finals are on June 2 at 10:30 p.m.
Bryant will also run in the 400 meters after qualifying with a time of 53.12 at the ECAC Championships on May 19. The semifinals of the 400 is at 8:10 p.m. on May 31 with the finals on June 2 at 8:30 p.m.
The Pirate men's 4x400 meter relay team of senior Ken Nelson (Port Huron, MI), sophomore Kareem Taylor (Trinidad, West Indies), freshman O.J. Hogans (Decatur, GA) and freshman Dwayne Thomas (Burtonsville, MD) will also compete. The alternate will be sophomore Marvin Regis (Valencia, Trinidad). The 4x400 team ran a time of 3:04.82 on March 29 at the Raleigh Relays. The men's 4x400 relay kicks off with the semifinals at 10:00 p.m. on May 31, followed by the finals at 10:40 p.m. on June 2.
Seton Hall head track and field coach John Moon has tutored 71 All-Americans, five NCAA Champions and 19 Olympians in his 29 seasons at Seton Hall.
