Golf Takes Eighth at NBT Bank Collegiate Classic

APALACHIN, N.Y. - The Seton Hall golf team completed play on Sunday in the NBT Bank Collegiate Classic at The Links at Hiawatha Landing. The Pirates shot a 635 (321-314) to finish eighth in the 11-team tournament, while senior Scott Sanderson (Moscow, Pa.) shot a 157 (81-76) to finish tied for 17th. Binghamton won the team title with a 603 (305-298), while Richard Hayes of Colgate shot a 146 (71-75) to take individual honors.
Junior Mike Byland (Kelowna, B.C.) shot an impressive 74 on the first day, but followed that with an 84 on Sunday to finished tied for 19th with a 158. Senior Andrew Rueve (Northbrook, Ill.) shot a 160 (82-78) to finish tied for 33rd, while junior Dean Gultula (Haskell, N.J.) shot a 163 (84-79) to finish tied for 41st. Freshman Kyle Morris (Powell Ohio) finished in 49th with a 167(86-81).
Seton Hall concludes the fall season at the John MacDonald Classic at Galloway National Golf Club in Galloway, N.J. on Oct. 25 and 26.
