Golf Finishes Tied For 11th At 2005 McLaughlin

Sophomore Kyle Morris led the Pirates with a 22nd place finish at the 2005 McLaughlin.

FARMINGDALE, N.Y. – The Seton Hall golf team on Saturday finished in a tie for 11th place at the 2005 McLaughlin Tournament, played at the Beth Page State Park Red Course. The Pirates were led once again by sophomore Kyle Morris (Powell, Ohio), who finished the three-round tournament tied for 22nd, shooting a +6 216 (70-71-75). As a team, Seton Hall shot a +50 890 (301-291-298).

Sophomore Rich Brazeau (Portsmouth, N.H.) was the team’s second highest finisher, placing in a tie for 39th, with a score of +10 220 (77-71-72). Senior Matt Mucci (Wayne, N.J.), competing in his first tournament for the Pirates, finished in a tie for 57th, shooting +16 226 (78-70-78). Freshman John Zur (Glenview, Ill.) came in a tie for 61st, with a score of +19 229 (77-79-73), and senior Dean Gultula (Haskell, N.J.) shot a +26 236 (77-79-80), to finish the tournament tied 73rd.

St. John’s and Winthrop finished the tournament in a tie for first place, both teams shot a three round total of +7 (847).

Seton Hall will return to action this Monday, Sept. 26, when it competes in the two-day Louisville Intercollegiate, held at the Cardinal Club in Louisville, Ky.
