Golf Finishes 14th at Louisville Intercollegiate

Senior Dean Gultula finished the Louisville Intercollegiate in a tie for 66th place, with a 54-hole score of +15.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Seton Hall golf team on Tuesday finished in last place at the 14 team, three round, Louisville Intercollegiate Tournament, played at the University of Louisville’s Cardinal Club. For the third time this fall, sophomore Kyle Morris (Powell, Ohio) paced the Pirates, finishing in a tie for 21st, with a three day score of +2 218 (74-69-75). Seton Hall shot a team score of +46 910 (306-294-310).

The Pirates had four other players competing in the tournament. Freshman John Zur (Glenview, Ill.) came in a tie for 54th, shooting a +12 228 (76-75-77). Senior Dean Gultula (Haskell, N.J.) placed in a tie for 66th, with a score of +15 231 (77-74-80). Sophomore Rich Brazeau (Portsmouth, N.H.) was 70th, +17 233 (79-76-78), and senior Matt Mucci (Wayne, N.J.) shot a +32 248 (82-79-87), coming in 74th.

The tournament was Seton Hall’s second in five days, as the Pirates completed play at the 2005 McLaughlin in Farmingdale, N.Y. last Saturday, teeing off in Louisville just two days later.

Marquette University won the Louisville Intercollegiate, edging out host Louisville on the third hole of a playoff. Both school’s shot a seven-under par, 257, through 54 holes.

Seton Hall will return to action this Sunday, Oct. 2, when it travels to Olean, N.Y., to compete in the Leo Keenan Collegiate Invitational.
