NEW HAVEN, Conn. The Seton Hall golf team finished in tied for third place at the MacDonald Cup this weekend. Sophomore John Zur (Glenview, Ill.) finished in a tie for 16th place, shooting a +18, 228 (76, 79, 73). The Pirates had a team score of +74, 914 (315, 302, 297).
Juniors Kyle Morris (Powell, Ohio) and Rich Brazeau (Portsmouth, N.H.) tied for 19th place and shot +20 (230) for the tournament. Freshman Ryan Castanet (McDonald, Pa.) took 27th place with a score of +22 (232), and freshman David Sampson (Warren, R.I.) finished +23 (233) to tie for 28th place.
Binghamton University won the tournament with a +64 (904) for the weekend. Robert Lindstrom of Birmingham Southern took earned the individual win, shooting a +5, 215.
The Pirates compete again next weekend, Oct. 14 and 15, at the NBT Collegiate Classic in Apalachin, N.Y.
