Track and Field Announces Four Recruit Signings

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. Seton Hall track and field head coach John Moon announced the signing of four athletes to national letters of intent on Monday.  The Pirates will welcome three women next fall; Keaira Dikerson (Wilmington, Del.), Shakia Forbes (Hampton, Va.), and Lavaughn Jones (Philadelphia, Pa.).  On the men’s side, Jeston McKenzie (Upper Marlboro, Md.) will join the team in January.

“I think this is one of the best crops of recruits I’ve had in a while.” Moon said.  I am excited to bring athletes of this caliber to Seton Hall and they should get us to the next level.  They are four of the top athletes in the country, which says a lot about the program at Seton Hall.”

Dickerson was a Delaware State Champion in the 800 meter with a time of 2:11.85.  Forbes is an All-American long jumper, with a personal best of 19”9.75.  Jones is a Pennsylvania PSL Champ in the 1500 meters, recording a time of 4:35.20.  McKenzie comes to Seton Hall from Essex County Community College, where he was a National Junior College All-American in the 800 meter (1:50.00).

The Pirates begin their indoor season at home on Sunday, Dec. 3 when they compete at the Seton Hall Open.
