Golf Places Fifth At Treasure Coast Classic

FORT PIERCE, Fla. – The Seton Hall men’s golf team kicked off its spring season with a fifth-place finish in the nine-school Treasure Coast Classic at the Indian Hills Golf Club on Tuesday and Wednesday. Senior Michael Byland (Kelowna, British Columbia) paced the Pirates, finishing in a tie for eighth place with a total score of 145 (75-70). Seton Hall’s two-day team score was 595 (301-294), 16 strokes behind first-place Johnson and Wales University.

Sophomore Kyle Morris (Powell, Ohio) was the Pirates’ second-highest finisher, shooting two-strokes behind Byland with a score of 147 (75-72). Other top finishers for Seton Hall were freshman John Zur (Glenview, Ill.), who finished tied for 28th with a score of 154 (76-78), sophomore Rich Brazeau (Portsmouth, N.H.), coming in tied for 31st with a total score of 155 (81-74), and senior Dean Gultula (Haskell, N.J.), shooting a 160 (75-85) and placing 45th.

Junior Sam Kenward (Worcestershire, England) competed in the tournament as an individual, finishing in a tie for 43rd place. Kenward shot a 159 (78-81).

The Seton Hall golf team will return to action on Saturday, Mar. 25, when it competes in the two-day George Washington Invitational to be held at the Bear Trap Dunes Club in Bethany Beach, Del.
