Men's Golf Places 9th at Navy Spring Invitational

Sophomore Kyle Morris placed in a tie for 12th at the Navy Spring Invitational.

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Seton Hall men’s golf team placed ninth in the Navy Spring Invitational at the Naval Academy Golf Course on Saturday. Sophomore Kyle Morris (Powell, Ohio) was the Pirates’ best individual finisher, placing in a tie for 12th with a four over par 146 (72-74). The team shot a two-round score of +31 599 (300-299).

Sophomore Rich Brazeau (Portsmouth, N.H.) and senior Matt Mucci (Wayne, N.J.) finished tied for 35th with a nine-over par 151. Both shot a 76 on the first day and a 75 on the second.

The Pirates’ other top finishers were freshman John Zur (Glenview, Ill.) and senior Dean Gultula (Haskell, N.J.), both of whom tied for 10th with a two round score of 10-over par. Zur fired a 76 on both days of the tournament; Gultula shot a 78 on day one and a 74 on Saturday.

Seton Hall’s next action is Sunday, Apr.22, when they begin play in the BIG EAST Championships at the Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club in Dade City, Fla.
