Golf in 10th Place After First Day of Hawks Invitational

HARTFORD, Conn. The golf team opened their fall season at the Hawks Invitational today.  The Pirates stand in10^th place after the first two rounds, with 18 holes to be played tomorrow.  Sophomore John Zur (Glenview, Ill.) was the Pirates’ low-man for the day, finishing in a tie for 37^th place, shooting a +3 146 (75-71).  The Pirates had a team score of +39 660 (334-326).

Seton Hall’s other four competitors were junior Kyle Morris (Powell, Ohio), who is tied for 37^th place with a +10 154 (78-76), junior Rich Brazeau (Portsmouth, N.H.), shooting a +12 156 (78-79) and is in 41^st place, freshman David Sampson finished the round tied for 48^th, with a +15 159 (82-77), and senior Sam Kenward (Worcestershire, England), is tied for 51^st place with a score of +17 161 (82-79).

Campbell University is leading the tournament with a score of -14 (562).  Campbell University’s Kyle Spahr leads the Hawks Invitational after shooting a -13 (131) on the day.

The Pirates have 18 holes tomorrow to finish up play at the Hawks Invitational.
