Osmun Named BIG EAST Volleyball Freshman of the Week

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Freshman Sarah Osmun (Crystal Lake, Ill.) was selected as the BIG EAST Freshman of the Week after guiding the Pirates to a 1-1 record last weekend.

 

Osmun, the first player to earn Freshman of the Week honors in the volleyball program’s history, racked up 34 kills and 24 digs in two matches over the weekend, and committed just 12 attack errors on 75 total attacks for a .293 hitting percentage.

 

In Seton Hall’s win over DePaul, she picked up her ninth double-double of the season after posting 15 kills and 15 digs. Osmun also registered a team-high 19 kills and nine digs in a loss to Notre Dame on Sept. 28.

 

This is the second time this season Osmun has been honored by the conference. She was selected to the BIG EAST Honor Roll on Sept. 10.
