
Volleyball Swept By Louisville

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - The Seton Hall volleyball team fell to Louisville, 3-0 (30-25, 30-23, 30-20), on Saturday. The Pirates (10-10; 1-6 BE), who played one of their best matches of the season despite the defeat, were led by freshman Sarah Osmun (Crystal Lake, Ill.) who tallied 18 kills and 13 digs.
After a solid start for Seton Hall, Louisville (12-4; 7-0 BE) pulled away with an 11-4 run to take a 21-14 advantage. The Pirates responded after a timeout to pull within two at 22-20 after an Osmun kill. The Cardinals then scored five of the next six points to regain control and take game one, 30-25.
Seton Hall came out firing in the second game, jumping out to an 8-3 lead after a four point rally with freshman Megan Murison (Woodridge, Ill.) serving up two of her three aces in the match. The Cardinals came back with an 11-1 run to take a 16-11 lead and never looked back, taking the second set, 30-23, and finishing the sweep with a 30-20 win in game three.
Senior Jennifer Procuniar (Grapevine, Texas) led the defense with 19 digs. Junior Brittany Rahrer (Fort Wayne, Ind.) had 28 assists, and sophomore Allie Matters (North Tonowanda, N.Y.) finished with 13 kills.
The Pirates return to action against Cincinnati on Sunday, Oct. 14 at 2:00 p.m. in Walsh Gymnasium.
