Pirates Add 12 Freshmen for 2007-2008

Seton Hall is looking to improve on last year’s record with an improved schedule, a skilled group of returning players, and major contributions from freshman players.  The Pirates welcome a total of 12 freshmen skaters from respected high school programs such as the Christian Brothers Academy, Seton Hall Prep, and Pope John XXIII.

Leading the way for the freshmen are forwards Alex DePalma (Christian Brothers Academy) and Brian Slattery (Fair Lawn HS).

On defense for the freshmen Pirates are standout defenders John Dwyer (Seton Hall Prep), Erik Perdon (Nutley High School), John McSparran (Gloucester Catholic High School), Andrew Burns (Ramsey High School), and Mike McKenna (Red Bank Regional High School).

Rounding out the freshmen forwards are George Courtemanche, from Cincinnati, OH who played on Ohio high school hockey powerhouse Archbishop Moeller, and Matt Steier, a member of the Demarest High School team.

Also among the freshmen are two goal keepers, Chris Borkes who was part of Pope John XXIII’s state quarterfinal team, and Hunter Douglas, who hails from Colorado Springs, CO.
