Coach Jerry Petrucci was named the Mid Atlantic Collegiate Hockey Association’s Coach of the Year for the 2007-2008 season to cap off the best season for Seton Hall Club Ice Hockey since joining the MACHA.
The Pirates surpassed last season’s victory total and acquired the most points ever for a Seton Hall team in the MACHA, including a win over league and national powerhouse
Coach Petrucci has also been asked to join the coaching staff for the MACHA all-star team in its game against the GNCHC all-stars on March 22, 2008. He will be joined there by Seton Hall all-star players Greg Jensen (#62) and all-star alternate Bob Patlen (#7). Greg led Seton Hall in points with 39 points in only 16 games and led the entire MACHA in goals scored with 23. Bob was 4th on the team in points with 14 and had the highest point total of all Pirate defensemen.
The Pirates also say good bye this year to two outstanding seniors, Mike Artale (#33) and Brian Connor (#24). Mike was a four year start at goal keeper and achieved iron-man status leading the league in minutes played at 1003 while placing 6th in wins with 6 and 5th in save percentage at .897. Brian played in all 26 games this season and helped the team immensely with his switch from forward to defenseman mid-season after the Pirate’s defense was decimated by injury. The entire Seton Hall Club Hockey community wishes these men well in the future.
