Pirates go 2-1 in opening weekend

The Pirates opened the 2008-2009 season on a high note, notching a 2-1 record during the opening weekend of the season with wins over Princeton and CW Post while losing a goal fest with Rowan.
There was a good mix of veterans and rookies getting in on the scoring this weekend with freshmen Tim Miller (#15) and Tyler Mannino (#18) leading the way with 5 goals and 4 goals respectively. Miller launched his Seton Hall career with a 4 goal performance against
Team captain and senior Zach Cutrell (#27) chipped in with 2 goals and 6 assists on the weekend to take the team points lead with 8. Sophomore John McSparran (#19) added 1 goal and 6 assists to notch 7 points over the first three games.
Also notching their first goals as Pirates were freshmen Rob Soper (#22), Sean McFadden (#12), and Lance Aligo (#10). JD Tom (#87) tallied his first point in the blue and white with an assist against CW Post.
The Pirates will look to keep up the pace this weekend as they play host to Muhlenberg and Rowan in a rematch of last week’s MACHA league opener.
