Track and Field Competes at Millrose Games and Collegiate Invitational

NEW YORK The Seton Hall men’s and women’s track and field teams split squads and participated in two competitions over the weekend.  The Pirates sent their 4x400 and 4x800 relay teams, and a few sprinters and hurdlers to the prestigious Millrose Games held at Madison Square Garden on Friday.  Other member’s participated at the Collegiate Invitational at the Armory in the Bronx.

At the Millrose games the men’s 4x400 relay team took third place, finishing in 3:23.73.  The men’s 4x800 team captured third, clocking in at 7:48.70.  Shamika Kentish ran a time of 7.76 in the 60 meter to place sixth.  Jernail Hayes competed in the 60 meter hurdles, finishing fifth (8.83).  Dwayne Joseph earned a fourth place finish after running the 60 meter hurdles in 8.75.

At the Collegiate Invitational, Alexandra McCoy finished 10^th in the 500 meter (1:15.50), James Gurr took fourth in the 500 meter (1:03.700), and Rob Novak placed 10^th in the mile (4:07.47).

The Pirates have this week off in preparation for the BIG EAST Indoor Championships.  Competition is from Feb. 17-18, in Akron, Ohio.
