Morris Takes Individual Crown at George Washington Invitational

BETHANY BEACH, Del. - Junior Kyle Morris (Powell, Ohio) won the George Washington Invitational on Saturday after shooting a three-under par, 141 (68, 73). Morris won the event by a single stroke over Yale's Mark Matza. As a team the Pirates finished third overall with a 36-hole total of 591 (290, 301).
For the rest of Seton Hall's top five golfers, freshman David Sampson (Warren, R.I.) tied for 17th place with a two-round score of 149 (74, 75). Junior Rich Brazeau (Portsmouth, N.H.) shot a +10, 152 (75, 77) to tie for 33rd.
Freshman Ryan Castanet (McDonald, Pa.) finished in a tie for 45th with a total of 155 (73, 82), and sophomore John Zur (Glenview, Ill.) shot a 164 (88, 76) to tie for 97th.
The Pirates compete next at the Navy Spring Invitational in Annapolis, Md. The tournament takes place at the Naval Acadamy Golf Course on Apr. 6.
