Golf in Eighth after Day One of BIG EAST Championship

SIMPSONVILLE, Ky. - After 18-holes of play, the Seton Hall golf team is in eighth place at the BIG EAST Championship. The Pirates shot a +16, 304, and are 21 strokes behind the host school, Louisville.
Seton Hall's top finisher on Sunday was John Zur (Glenview, Ill.), who is tied for 13th. Zur shot a +1 (73), and is seven shots off the pace of Marquette's Mike Van Sickle.
For the rest of the Pirates, Ryan Castanet (McDonald, Pa.) and Kyle Morris (Powell, Ohio) are tied for 28th after first round score of +4 (76). David Sampson (Warren, R.I.) posted a +7 (79), and sits in a tie for 48th. J.C. Cardamone (Dunmore, Pa.) sits in 60th place after finishing up with a +14 (86).
Seton Hall continues competition at the BIG EAST Championship on Monday, Apr. 23.
