SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. The Seton Hall track and field team will send a men’s 4x400 and 4x800-meter relay team, a women’s 4x800-meter relay team, and several individuals to the 101st running of the Millrose Games to be held at Madison Square Garden on February 1.
Highlights and live coverage of the competition, including the men’s 4x800-meter relay and women's 4x400-meter relay will air on ESPN2, from 7-8:00 p.m.
The men’s 4x400 team consists of junior Carl Smith (Camden, N.J), junior Jemel Williams (Bronx, N.Y.), senior Greg Gomes (Somerset, N.J.), and freshman Marvin Carter (Bordentown, N.J.).
The Pirate men will also compete in the 4x800-meter relay, which is being billed as one of the most competitive collegiate events of the Games. The squad will include senior Justin McKenzie (Upper Marlboro, Md.), junior Rob Novak (Bordentown, N.J.), senior Bryan Burney (Mebane, N.C.), and junior James Gurr (Sydney, Australia).
Senior Shameeka Speed (Millville, N.J.), senior Janeille Brathwaite (Christ Church, Barbados), sophomore Toneisha Friday (Somerset, N.J.), and sophomore Jernail Hayes (Newark, Del.) will be on the women’s 4x400-meter relay team.
Individually, Brathwaite and senior Imani Gilliam (Pennsauken, N.J.) are entered in the 60-meter hurdles.
Junior Adama Pitts (Jacksonville, Fla.) and freshman Shakia Forbes (Rocky Mount, N.C.) will both run in the 60-meter dash.
For the men, freshman Matt Rendina (Boothwyn, Pa.) and Smith will compete in the 60-meter dash, while senior Dwayne Joseph (Willingboro, N.J.) will run the 60-meter hurdles.
