PROVIDENCE, R.I.   A game-winning goal in overtime against Providence earned sophomore Brayan Martinez (West Orange, N.J.) a spot on this week’s BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll.

Martinez, who also picked up an assist in the victory, scored in the third minute of overtime as the Pirates picked up an important conference win.  The honor is the first of the season for Martinez.

Alex Silva of West Virginia was named the Offensive Player of the Week, while Brad Simpson of Cincinnati earned the Defensive Player of the Week Award.  Robert Cavicchia of Syracuse picked up Goalkeeper of the Week honors and Colin Rolfe of Louisville was tabbed as Rookie of the Week.

Joining Martinez on the honor roll are Jason Bristol of West Virginia, John Jonke of Louisville, Jordan Marks of Pittsburgh and Brian Visser of DePaul.
