Golf Finishes Ninth at Ironwood Pirate Classic

GREENVILLE, N.C. The Seton Hall golf team placed ninth at the Ironwood Pirate Classic this weekend. Senior Kyle Morris (Powell, Ohio) and junior John Zur (Glenview, Ill.) each shot +2 (146) to lead the Pirates.

The tournament, originally scheduled for 54 holes, was shortened to a 36 hole competition after rain wiped out play on Saturday.

Morris fired a final round score of -2 (70) on Sunday, while Zur fired an even-par (72) to tie for 18^th place.

Sophomore David Sampson (Warren, R.I.) tied for 35^th with a +5 (149), freshman Colin Van Es (Granger, Ind.) was +6 (150) to tie for 43^rd place, and senior Richard Brazeau (Portsmouth, N.H.) shot a pair of +5 rounds to finish in a tie for 64^th place.

The Pirates will compete at the BIG EAST Championships from April 20-22 in Hebron, Ky.
