Corey Young, Baseball

Junior Corey Young was named BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week for his efforts against Pittsburgh on Saturday, April 5. Young tossed a complete game shutout allowing only two hits and no walks, while striking out 10 batters in the Pirates, 3-0, victory over the Panthers.  He picked up at least one strikeout in each inning, including two straight in the ninth inning to end the game. This is the second time in three weeks Young has been named SHUPirates.com’s Athlete of the Week.
