DURHAM, N.H. The Seton Hall volleyball team won a hard fought match to Evansville, 3-1 (21-25, 25-20, 25-18, 25-23), to open up the Holly Young Invitational hosted by New Hampshire. The win moves the Pirates back to .500 at 4-4 on the season.

The Aces got off to a quick start in set two, jumping out to an 8-3 lead. This time the Pirates rallied, scoring eight of the next nine points to go on top, 11-9.

Set three started out as a close affair, but Thornquist jump-started a 4-0 spurt to give the Hall a 9-6 advantage. The Pirates slowly pulled away, building a 19-14 lead and maintained a comfortable margin, winning the set, 25-18.
Seton Hall held a slim two-point lead in the early stages of the fourth set, but later committed four attack errors, allowing the Aces to take a 15-13 lead. Thornquist helped settle the team down with a kill and a service ace, and two errors from
The Aces went on a 5-2 spurt to go on top once again, leading to a see-saw battle between the teams. With the score tied at 23-23, Matusiak gave SHU the lead, and Osmun set up Rahrer for a rare kill to finish the win.
