Golf Finished Eighth at John Dallio Memorial

COMPLETE FINAL RESULTS

LEMONT, ILL. The Seton Hall men’s golf team shot a 299 in the third and final round of the John Dallio Memorial Tournament on Monday to place eighth among 15 teams competing.

The Pirates finished with an 894 for the tournament, 21 strokes behind Nova Southeastern who bested Southern Illinois in a tie-breaker to win the team title.  Georgetown’s Brian Dorfman won the individual title with a 7-under-par, 209.

Freshman Troy Spencer (High Point, N.C.) finished up a solid individual performance in the tournament with a 1-under-par, 71, in the third round.  Overall, he shot a 4-over-par, 220, over the two-day event, which was a Seton Hall best and tied him for 18^th individually.

Senior John Zur (Glenview, Ill.) fired a 2-over-par, 74, on Monday and finished second on the Pirates for the tournament with an 8-over-par, 224, which tied him for 32^nd place individually.

Sophomore Colin Van Es (Granger, Ind.) shot a 3-over-par, 75, on Monday and finished with a 12-over-par, 228, for the tournament.  Junior Ryan Castanet (McDonald, Pa.) and David Sampson (Warren, R.l.) rounded out the scoring for the Pirates.  Castanet shot a 7-over-par, 79, on Monday to finish the tournament with a 13-over-par, 229.  Sampson fired a 9-over-par, 81, on Monday to complete his tournament with a 15-over-par, 231.

Seton Hall will return to action this weekend, September 28 through September 30, at the Hartford Hawks Invitational.  Two years ago, the Pirates finished ninth at the event.
