SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. The Seton Hall volleyball team took the first two sets, but could not hold on as Pittsburgh beat the Pirates 3-2 (15-25, 21-25, 27-25, 25-16, 15-8). The loss snaps the Hall’s (7-8; 1-1 BE) seven match home winning streak.

Seton Hall went ahead 11-5 to open the match after an Osmun kill and never looked back, coasting to a 25-15 win.
The second set was a closer contest with the Pirates holding an 11-9 advantage in the early stages. SHU extended the lead to 16-10 after a Panther (9-7; 2-0 BE) attack error. Three more Pitt miscues pushed the set to a seven point contest, and the Pirates went into the intermission with a 2-0 lead in the match.
Seton Hall was on the brink of putting the Panthers away in the third, holding a 23-19 lead, but
Consecutive kills from Pitts’ Kelly Campbell and Amy Town turn the tables on the Hall, and attack error from the Pirates forced a fourth set.
The Panthers carried their momentum into the fourth set and took a 13-8 lead. Pitt later went on a 6-0 run to go ahead by nine points, and took the set, 25-16.
An 8-0 run by the Panthers in the fifth set put the Hall in an 11-3 hole, and
The Pirates will host Fordham on Wednesday, October 1, against Fordham. The match is slated for a 7:00 p.m. start.
