Matters Earns BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll Nod

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Senior Allie Matters (North Tonowanda, N.Y.) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for the final week of the regular season. The senior libero was dominant in the back row, helping Seton Hall go 1-1 and secure its first BIG EAST Championship appearance since 1994.

Matters broke her own single-season dig record with a 29 dig effort at Pittsburgh on Friday night, and closed the regular season with 20 digs at West Virginia. For the week, she averaged 6.12 digs per set. Matters compiled exactly 600 digs on the season, and extended the nation’s longest active double-figure dig streak to 67 consecutive matches.

The Pirates will face top-seeded Notre Dame in the quarterfinal round of the BIG EAST Championship on Friday, November 20, at 3:30 p.m.
