KNOXVILLE, Tenn. The Seton Hall track and field team had four individuals qualify for the NCAA Regionals at the Sea Ray Relays over the weekend. Seniors Clarisse Moh (Paris, France), Rob Novak (Bordentown, N.J.), James Gurr (Sydney, Australia), along with junior Jernail Hayes (Newark, Del.) earned the right to compete in Greensboro, N.C. at the end of May
Moh hit a time of 2.06.80 in the 800-meter run to have her ticket punched to the Regionals. Hayes qualified in the 400-meter hurdles with a 59.96 performance. Novak and Gurr placed first and second, earning spots in the 800-meter run, posting times of 1:49.42 and 1:49.94, respectively.
In the women’s 100-meter dash, seniors Adama Pitts (Jacksonville, Fla.) and Shameeka Speed (Millville, N.J.) clinched postseason berths. Pitts hit an ECAC standard time of 12.03, while Speed qualified for the BIG EAST Championships with a 12.03.
Sophomore Christopher Cox (Manahawkin, N.J.) ran the 400-meter dash in 46.50 to earn the right to compete at the IC4A’s.
Sophomores Donna Joy Alexander (Cliffwood Beach, N.J.) and Nick Frimpong (East Hartford, Conn.) are going to the postseason in their respective jumping events. Alexander made an attempt of 11.59 meters in the triple jump to qualify for the BIG EAST’s. Frimpong placed second in the high jump, achieving a mark of 2.05 meters, earning a place at the IC4A Championships.
The Pirates return to action at the Kansas Relays from April 16-18.
