Volleyball Swept at Albany, 3-0

ALBANY, N.Y. - The Seton Hall volleyball team dropped a 3-0 (25-15, 25-21, 25-17) decision to Albany on the second day of the University of Albany Classic. The loss brings the Pirates to 1-4 on the season.
Freshman Olivia Trudeau (Shell Beach, Calif.) recorded her second career double-double, posting 25 assists and a career-high 14 digs. Classmate Morgan DeVries (Grand Rapids, Mich.) also had a career day with 10 kills with a .318 attack percentage.
The Great Danes quickly mounted an 11-3 lead early in the first set and easily took the frame, 25-15.
In the second, SHU flexed its muscle early and doubled-up Albany 16-8 after a kill by DeVries. The Great Danes strung together a 6-2 run to make it 19-18 contest, and eventually took the lead, 21-20, after a Pirate attack error. A kill by freshman Hannah Hugeback (Virginia Beach, Va.) tied the score on the next play, but Albany recorded the next four points to go ahead, 2-0.
After a close start to the third, a 7-2 spurt gave the Great Danes a 13-8 lead, and completed the sweep with a 25-17 victory in the set.
Seton Hall will play Hofstra at 4:30 p.m. this afternoon to conclude play at the University of Albany Classic.
