
Women's Golf Completes Play at Rutgers Invitational

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Playing through harsh weather conditions, the Seton Hall women's golf team placed 19th at the Rutgers Invitational this weekend. Fairleigh Dickinosn won the tournament by seven shots over second-place Bucknell.
"The girls battled as best they could in less than ideal weather," said head coach Sara Doell. "I am proud of the way they got through the tournament and competed as best they could."
Freshman Hannah Basalone (Brea, Calif.) was the top finisher for the Pirates, tying for 27th place with rounds of 86 and 80.
Gabriella Riber of Sacred Heart captured individual medalist honors with a 155, three strokes better than second place Lisa Warrilow of Fairleigh Dickinson. Five players from five different universities tied for third place by carding 160.
The opening round of the Invitational on Friday was halted due to darkness. It was completed early Saturday before the onset of the second and final round of the 36-hole event.
